Tenix Defence Systems 55m Replacement Patrol Boat
In early 2003, Russ was approached by Hector Donohue to see if he could build several models of the TENIX’s proposed Replacement Patrol Boat for the RAN (Project SEA 1444).
The design was developed from the proven 56 metre Search and Rescue vessels currently being built for the Philippine Coast Guard of which DMG has already built 30 smaller presentation models.
These models are being built to a scale of 1:75 and measure approximately 765mm in length. They will be highly detailed to represent the vessel, as she would appear in RAN service.
Unfortunately the TENIX design was not successful in its bid for the RAN Replacement Patrol Boat and the Austal Ships has been chosen to construct twelve new Patrol Boats for the RAN.
