Tenix Defence Systems FFH Model ANZAC
Following a visit to attend the launch of the Frigate ARUNTA, TENIX Defence Systems approached the Director of DMG (which was yet to be established) about the construction of a scale model of HMAS ANZAC, lead ship of the eight Australian and two Royal New Zealand Navy “ANZAC” Class ships.
To enable TENIX to order from “A Company”, Defence Models and Graphics was born, as a policy was in place that they could not deal with individuals. An order for the first real “DMG Model” was then placed.
The model was constructed in the configuration of the ship at commissioning. The model was completed with operating SPS-49 Radar and the TIR Radar on the forward mast.
This model has been used as centre piece at the post commissioning functions and dinners for the launching of the successive ANZAC Class Frigates and will hopefully will be used for the remaining launches also.
She remains on display at TENIX Defence Systems Offices in Williamtown, Victoria.
